Literacy is taught through clever fingers, handwriting and experience lessons.

Throughout the day, there are also opportunities for the children to have further phonics practise through 'pinny time'.

Within Inspired Play, adults scaffold the children's learning. Provocations are set up which reflect the areas of learning below:

Experiences

Dinky Dishes

In our Dinky Dishes experience we are learning about healthy and unhealthy choices.

We started our experience with a teddy bears picnic!

We learnt about choices we can make to help us stay healthy. It is very important to get a balance diet!

We have been creating shopping lists of healthy and unhealthy foods!

We're Going on a Miss Fermor Hunt!

We shared the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt!'

We then explored our own school and went looking for Miss Fermor. Using the story structure we explored our school setting and generated our onomatopoeia sounds and adapted the repeated refrain. Using effective communication, we created our own videos to retell our stories.
